As the mother of the bride, I couldn't have imagined a more perfect venue than Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club at Hilton Head Island for my daughter's wedding. Every space throughout the day felt magical — from the ceremony with its breathtaking backdrop, to a relaxed and elegant cocktail hour, to the stunning dinner reception and lively dancing that carried us into the night. The food was simply exceptional and far exceeded typical 'wedding food.' Guests are still raving that it was the best they've ever had at a wedding. The filet of beef, salmon, and chicken entrées were cooked to perfection, the shrimp and grits appetizers and mac and cheese bites were huge hits, and the late-night pretzels with beer cheese were such a fun and delicious touch. The fact that it was a true sit-down dinner with each course beautifully plated and even the cake served individually to each guest made the experience feel especially thoughtful and elevated. The venue itself looked gorgeous, with linens and décor that were absolutely beautiful, but what truly made the day flawless was the team. Sydney, the coordinator, was nothing short of amazing. She handled everything with grace and precision, even orchestrating a last-minute move of the ceremony from indoors to outdoors when the rain stopped — making my daughter's dream of being married on the putting green a reality. The staff executed every detail seamlessly, creating a day that was joyful, stress-free, and unforgettable. There was one thing my husband and I knew from the very beginning of our wedding hunt: we wanted to get married at Port Royal. We're from NJ, but have been to HHI many times with family, and have loved golfing at Port Royal every time we go there. The cover picture Port Royal uses (with the big tree in the background of the ceremony) sealed the deal and we even booked that wedding photographer! (Amber Elizabeth Photography) Sydney, events ringmaster at Port Royal, was so great to work with over the 11 or so months we had to plan everything. At the end of the day, every detail was squared away, every box was checked, and at no point in time did we feel like we were rushed on decision making. If I could give an extra bonus star for the food, I would. It's not an uncommon occurrence that food served at the tasting on a small scale tends to not be the same when produced in mass quantities for day-of. Not only was the food just as good as our tasting day, but many of our guests sought us out during cocktail hour and dinner service to say just how good the food was. (Pro tip: get the shrimp and grits for cocktail hour!!!!) Sydney worked with our wedding planner and DJ last Friday at our wedding like they're her regular colleagues. The agility Sydney and her team worked with to change our ceremony location at a last minute notce (damn rain), and still ensure all logistics were covered, was nothing short of impressive. I'm so happy we were able to make our initial dream a reality by getting married at Port Royal, (and having a fun golf outing the next day!!), and even happier with the experience Sydney and her team were able to bring to light. Can't recommend this beautiful venue enough!!!

General & Booking

When is the final balance due and what is the payment process?

The final guest count is due along with your final payment at the two week mark from the event date.

Do you require a deposit to secure my date?

To secure your date, we require the facility fee plus 25% of the food and beverage minimum. The food and beverage minimum depends on the date of your event and your guest count.

Can we also host our rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, or other celebrations at your venue?

Yes, we welcome all types of events.

Do couples have to be a member to host a wedding? Are there member sponsorship requirements or discounts?

No. Our Clubhouse is open to the public and a member sponsor is not required.

Capacity & Spaces

Do you have indoor and outdoor ceremony options?

Yes. We have outdoor ceremony settings on the club grounds and a private beach on the Atlantic. Indoor locations are also available as a weather backup for both ceremony and reception.

Packages & Requirements

Are there venue rental or facility fees (separate from food and beverage)?

Yes. A food and beverage minimum is applied in addition to the venue rental fees.

Catering & Bar Service

Are outside caterers or outside alcohol allowed?

We have a talented culinary and management staff to take care of your food and beverage needs, with customization options to fit your vision. Your wedding cake or specialty dessert is the one exception we welcome from outside.

Does the package include tastings?

Yes. A complimentary tasting for your menu is included for up to four people.

Vendors & Decor

Are outside vendors (florists, photographers, DJs) permitted?

We have a preferred list of professional vendors to help you get started. If you find someone outside our list who is a better fit, outside vendors are welcome.

Timeline & Logistics

What is your policy for inclement weather or weather-related changes?

All deposits are non-refundable. We always have an indoor backup plan in place so your day stays on track regardless of the weather.

What is the backup plan for outdoor ceremonies in case of bad weather?

We have two indoor options. Our foyer features floor-to-ceiling windows and makes a beautiful ceremony setting. Our covered patio gives you that outdoor feel with full weather protection.

Is there an event end time or noise/curfew policy?

Outdoor receptions end at 10:00 p.m. Indoor receptions end at 11:00 p.m.

Guest Experience & Accessibility

Is on-site parking available, and is valet offered?

Valet parking is not offered. We do have an open parking lot available for all Clubhouse guests and event attendees.

Are your facilities accessible to guests with disabilities?

Yes. We have a wheelchair accessible ramp.

Do you offer accommodations for guests (e.g., hotel blocks, shuttle options)?

Yes. We work with nearby partners and can assist in setting up a room block for your guests.

Do you provide furniture, linens, tableware, and centerpieces?

Yes. We provide tables, chairs, flatware, glassware, china, and linens, including napkins available in a variety of colors.
