Hilton Head Island, NC. – The Heritage Golf Collection on Hilton Head Island, a collection of Heritage Golf Group properties, is proud to host “Military Week” on Hilton Head Island, SC from November 6 – November 14, 2015 to raise awareness and funds for several military outreach programs and support our troops, including NS2 Serves, Operation Homefront, Birdies for the Brave® and Tennis Thanks the Troops. The Heritage Golf Collection will host family friendly activities throughout the week at their four award-winning golf resort-style properties, Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, Oyster Reef Golf Club, Shipyard Golf Club and Port Royal Golf Club:
Military Week kicks off at Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club with a charity golf tournament benefitting Birdies for the Brave (a PGA TOUR charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for military homefront groups that provide critical services to meet the specialized needs of military members, wounded veterans and their families). The tournament shotgun starts at 12:00pm with a four Team Scramble accompanied by a military hero. Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club will host a special event benefiting Tennis Thanks the Troops to at their award-winning tennis facility. The event begins with a Fast Action Drill Clinic from 10:30am – 12:30pm followed by a Doubles Exhibition featuring top Hilton Head Island Tennis Professionals and a courtside lunch. LagerHead Tavern at Oyster Reef Golf Club will host a family friendly Oyster Roast from noon – 5:00pm benefitting NS2 Serves (a charity that offers recent veterans of U.S. national security missions training in software solutions that support U.S. national security, leading to certifications that are valuable in many career paths). Attendees will enjoy “All You Can Eat Oysters & Wings” and a concert featuring the local band “The Headliners.” Tickets can be purchased in advance at any of The Heritage Golf Collection properties (Children under 12 are free). Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club will hold an Open House on Veteran’s Day from 2:00pm – 6:00pm featuring a “Taste of Heritage” which includes signature hors d’oeuvres from each of The Heritage Golf Collection restaurants, live entertainment and a cash bar with drink specials. The Second Annual Run for the Brave 5K event will attract competitive racers, occasional runners and recreational walkers to Palmetto Hall Plantation. The 5K (3.1 mile) race benefiting, Operation HomeFront (an organization that provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, to the families they leave behind and to wounded warriors when they return home) begins at 8:00am. Each participant will enjoy the beautiful scenery along the flat and fast all-road course within the Palmetto Hall Plantation community.

While Veterans and their spouses, as well as guests of Active Military, will receive a significant discount on golf, tennis and food, plus preferred military rates at partner hotels.
