Hilton Head Island, NC. – The Heritage Golf Collection on Hilton Head Island, a collection of Heritage Golf Group properties, raised over ,000 to Support our Troops during “Military Week” on Hilton Head Island, SC from November 6 – November 14, 2015. “Military Week” was started this year to raise awareness and funds for several military outreach programs including NS2 Serves, Operation Homefront, Birdies for the Brave® and Tennis Thanks the Troops. All donations and Military Week net proceeds will be distributed to NS2 Serves, Operation Homefront, Birdies for the Brave® and Tennis Thanks the Troops.
Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club’s golf tournament benefitted PGA TOUR Charities, Inc.’s Birdies for the Brave®, a national military outreach initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for military homefront charities that provide critical services to meet the specialized needs of military members, wounded veterans, and their families. With a full field of over 200 golfers, the golf tournament commenced with a patriotic Opening Ceremony and each foursome of golfers was joined by an active duty military member. Their participation brought real-world military heroism to life through the round of golf. Following tournament play, the post-round reception included dinner for all participants and guests, raffles and an awards presentation.
The Heritage Golf Collection hosted family friendly activities throughout the week at their four award-winning golf resort-style properties, Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, Oyster Reef Golf Club, Shipyard Golf Club and Port Royal Golf Club. Events included:
