Oyster Reef Golf Club

Hilton Head Golf Course - Oyster Reef Golf Club

Designed by Rees Jones, Oyster Reef Golf Club is the way golf is supposed to be played.

Our impeccable course conditions feature lush fairways and perfectly manicured greens, all set in a naturally peaceful and serene environment. Tall Carolina Pines line your paths at Oyster Reef, home of the Whooping Crane Conservancy. Take in Hole #6, a 200 yard Par 3 with a forward carry over water to a small green, with a deep bunker directly in front of it. You’ll rave over its breathtaking view of Port Royal Sound.

Oyster Reef’s beauty is matched only by its challenge. Ranging from 7,014 yards from the championship tees to 5,288 yards from the forward tees, the course rewards and tests golfers of all skill level. The play is difficult for low handicappers yet extremely friendly to higher handicappers. Tree lined boundaries and dog-legged fairways beg you to keep your ball in play and sixty-six strategically placed bunkers add that extra test to keep it all interesting. The last five holes are the greatest challenges of skill and precision that can make or break your round.

To prepare you for you Oyster Reef experience, our practice facility features a two tiered range with nine targets, a chipping green with a green side bunker and an oversized putting area. You’ll appreciate all the help you can get.

Immediately upon opening, Oyster Reef was recognized in a class all its own. It received kudos as one of the Leading Golf Courses of America (1996-1997) and One of the Best Golf Courses in America by Golf Magazine in 1992.
